10cc, packaged in a plastic syringe for easy application. Restore the original smooth operation of your tonearm! If the cartridge drops too quickly when you lower the cueing lever, then the original silicone fluid has leaked out. Applying a tiny amount of this thick silicone fluid to the cylinder wall of your cueing mechanism will restore a smooth, quiet transition into playback when dropping the cueing lever.

Because cueing mechanisms were designed differently, methods for disassembling them will vary. It is up to the consumer to figure out how to disassemble the cueing mechanism, and know that doing this will probably void the manufacturer's warranty. Turntable Basics cannot guarantee that every cueing mechanism can be serviced successfully. General Instructions are included.

For Tonearm Damping Troughs:

Not every tonearm has this feature. A vertical paddle attached to the tonearm wand sticks down into an arc-shaped trough filled with silicone fluid. The viscosity of the fluid provides damping against small vibrations in the tonearm's motion. Correct motion damping will reduce skipping, alleviate chatter improve tracking. Damping can be tuned by adjusting the viscosity of the fluid, the level of fluid in the trough, and the width of the paddle. These three thicknesses can be mixed together to achieve custom viscosities.

Monopivot Damping Wells:

Instead of using separate sets of vertical and horizontal bearings, monopivot arms have a single pivot point atop the base for the arm to rest and pivot upon. Monopivot Damping Wells are usually accessed from the top of the pivot assembly. This sealed cavity surrounding the tonearm's pivot point should be cleaned out and filled with thick (600,000 cSt) silicone fluid to reduce motion chatter and improve azimuth stability.
